Who We Are:

The Caring Ministry Committee’s profile is  “Women on a mission with hearts that CARE.”

Our main goal is to encourage sensitivity in our Michigan LWML sisters toward those who are

hurting and in need in our churches, community, and the world. WOW! Yes is a great under-

taking for just a few people to do but with the Lord’s continual help it is possible.

What We Do:

We plan “Gifts of Love,” (when the LWMLers buy or make items to give to those in need) and

Servant Events (when the LWMLers give of their time to help people or groups to clean, paint,

or to serve in whatever way is needed) for the biennium.  The two-year target areas of Partnering for Diversity, Training Leaders, and Zone Unity have helped us in our plan of action.

How Do We Do IT?

The key is to look at all the resources that are available. We put these on a yearly calendar as a step-by-step plan for the women in the pew.  This can only be done through communicating our plan to you through LWML in Action, the District President’s Resume, Web Site, Michigan in Touch, the Zone President, and your society representative.

Your Caring Ministry:

1.     Use the resources from us (no matter if you are a large or small society).

2.     Plan one year at a time.

3.     Plan who is going to head it up.

4.     Involve others in your congregation.

5.     Set a deadline.

6.     And go for it!

7.     Things you can do now:

* Check your LWML Catalog on pages 19,22 and 23 for resources that can be ordered

* Continue to save single lens eyeglasses for the MOST ministries to bring to the Michigan District Convention 2006

As the chairman of your Caring Ministry Committee I have always said that when our Michigan LWMLers do something they do it in a very big way.

May the Lord bless you as you reach out to those in need!
