Convention Goal: Even during the storms of life, believers rest securely in the knowledge that their salvation is anchored in Jesus Christ.
Theme Verse: We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. Hebrews 6:19-20A

Convention Servant Events - Feed My Starving Children (FMSC)is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to feed God’s starving children who are hungry in body and spirit. Our mission is to package highly nutritious meals for severely malnourished children. The meals are distributed to starving children in over 45 countries around the world, including three of our very own states. Volunteers are desparately needed to work in teams to measure food ingredients into bags, weigh and heat-seal bags, and pack completed meals in boxes that will be shipped to children all around the world. In 2006, FMSC had over 137,000 volunteers who packaged over 30 million meals. Eighty percent of the volunteers were under the age of 18. This Servant Event is not be limited to the ladies. Families are encouraged to come to the convention and take part (children will need to be of school-age and able to follow directions) and men - we will need your muscles as well. There will be four 2-hour sessions to choose from. The food to be packaged has been specially formulated by food scientists who work closely with FMSC to meet the needs of severely malnourished children. The meals consist of: rice, textured soy protein, dehydrated vegetables, and 20 vitamins and minerals with a vegetarian chicken flavoring. The meals have all the nutrients needed to nourish a starving child for an entire day. Feed My Starving Children partners with missionaries in 45 countries to assure that the meals are given to children who need them the most. The meals go to orphanages, schools, and relief centers. Food has been provided to children in Haiti, Tanzania, Indonesia, Sudan, Cambodia, Peru and in dozens of others countries. On Friday, July 18th, we will be packaging 100,000 meals, at the cost of 15 cents per meal. When will we ever again have the opportunity to feed that many children?
